How to adjust CCD sensor by Microseven software?

Step 1    Open M7CMS, enter User ID and Password, default is admin and password. Main window will pop up.

Step 2    Right click on video screen to pull up camera short-cut menu or click camera in the camera list, then Camera Setup properties dialog pops up.

Step 3    Go to tab Video > CCD Settings tab.

Step 4    Set Mirror mode, White Balance, AGC, ALC/ELC, Blacklight compensation, Anti-Scintillation, Color Mode, Grade, Auto IRIS level regulator, Sharpening adjustment, and etc.

Step 5    Click ‘OK’ to close ‘CCD setup’ pop window.

How to change image color if video images turn to black and white?

Step 1    Double-click Network Camera | Microseven icon to open M7CMS.

Step 2    Select the camera you need to change color. Right click the video screen to pull up camera short-cut menu or click the camera in the camera list, then theCamera Setup properties dialog pops up.

Step 3    Go to Video > Color to Black & White Setup tab.

Step 4    Enable this function and set a schedule.

Step 5    Click ‘Apply’ to save and complete setup.

How to upgrade new firmware?

Step 1     Click Microseven IP locator icon Network Camera | Microseven , Microseven IP locator window will pop up.

Step 2 Click on ‘Search’ in Locator.

Step 3 Highlight on IP address and double click, A pop up window is up.

Network Camera | Microseven Current default gateway from factory is 192.168.1.1 for our example here. You need to find out your own default gateway to match.
Step 4 Click ‘Browse…’, Open file window pops up, select the lastest version of firmware then click ‘Open’.

Step 5 Then click on ‘Upgrade’.

Step 6 Confirmation pop window to ask you if you want to go to next step.

Step 7 Click ‘Yes’, now wait for update to complete.

Step 8 You will be notified ‘Firmware upgraded successfully’. Click ‘Close’.

Step 9 Go back to Microseven camera locator again, do search to check if new version of firmware has been updated.

How to record video on PC or server?

Step 1    Open Microseven software, enter User ID and Password, default User ID and Password is admin and password.

Step 2    Click OK, main page pops up.

Step 3    Click ‘Schedule Record’ radio button and click ‘Schedule REC Setting…’ button.

Step 4    Table of schedule page pops up.

Step 5    Set up your value to table.

For example:
- Select a Camera: 192.168.1.201
- Continuous recording for 24/7
- Click check box on Schedule REC Enable
- File Save Path: Any drivers can be selected.

- Keep Recording File Days: 10 (For reference, 4 GB is for 24 hours in CIF mode)

Step 6    Click OK to complete.

Step 6    Playback your recording file, click on Playback icon.

Step 7    Select date and time you want to playback recorded video files, click Play.

Step 8    Click View live camera(s) video icon to go back to live mode.

Step 9    Click on ‘Manual Record’ radio button to stop recording video on your PC or server.

How to embed still image to your website?

Before you are ready for still image your website for your webcam, your Microseven network camera has been set up view on internet.
Then to do the following set up to embed still image on your website.

Step 1    Open M7CMS to view your camera.

Step 2    Right click on video and select Properties from shortcut menu or click camera name from camera list, for example ‘Los Angeles, California’. Go to next properties page.

Step 3     Go to Capture & Snapshot > Camera Built-in snapshot tab.

Step 4     Check on ‘Enable camera built-in snapshot’, and set up Camera built-in snapshot interval. (3 seconds is default and recommended)

Step 5     Then click ‘Apply’.

Step 6     Click OK on Camera built-in snapshot pop window, and click Close on ‘Configuration Settings’ window.

Then you need to copy embedded scripts to your html page in your website.

ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: Your IP address, for example, ip=74.212.249.249

ORNetwork Camera | Microseven
ip=xxx.xxx.xxx: Your domain name, if you have use dyndns.org domain name with your IP address, for example, ip=m7cam.microseven.com.

Port: Port is web port number, for example 80
Channel: Channel is from 1 – 4, for example 1 for you use it for camera only; if you have 4 channel encoder, you may need 4 channels, 1, 2, 3, and 4 for four different channels.

How to view Microseven network camera over the Internet?

Before you view Microseven network camera over internet, you have to open port forwarding on your router. Example, you opened web port for 81, device port from 9660-9661. Then you go to IE browser, enter http://whatismyip.com to Address Bar and find out what is your internet IP address.

After you found the IP address from whatismyip.com, in this example it is 66.215.70.112. Enter http://66.215.70.112:81 to Address Bar in IE browser.

How to make DNS change to have your email sent out?

Sometimes, your email can not be sent out when motion detection has been triggered. You may need to check your IP with DNS.

Step 1    To set up DNS statically, first login M7CMS.

Step 2    Right click on the live camera screen to pull up camera short-cut menu and select Properties, or click on camera name of Camera List. Camera setup properties dialog pops up.

Step 3     Select Camera > Network Settings tab.

Step 4     Go to DNS type, select DNS in the drop down list.

Step 5     Enter DNS number which is from ISP. And click ‘Apply’.

Step 6     You will see the Setup successfully message. And it has been modified. Then check your email again.

How to setup motion detection and email configuration to send motion detection snapshot by email?

Step 1    Double-click Network Camera | Microseven icon to open Microseven software.

Step 3    Right click on the live camera screen to pull up camera short-cut menu and select Properties, or click the camera name of Camera List. Camera setup properties dialog pops up.

Step 4    Go to Camera > Email Settings tab.

Step 5    The example uses gmail.com information, Check ‘Apply to motion detection’.

  1. SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
  2. Send from: microsevensystems@gmail.com
  3. Account name: microsevensystems@gmail.com
  4. Password: *******
  5. Send to: support@microseven.com
  6. Check Sending snapshot
  7. Show ‘From’ as: Support Team
  8. Subject: Test

Step 6     Click ‘Apply’ and then click ‘OK’.

Step 7     Go to Motion Detect tab.

Note: Sensitivity level, 1-9, 9 is the highest sensitivity.

Step 8     Click ‘Set motion detect area’, and motion detect area window pops up.

Step 9     Click ‘Select All’ then click ‘OK’

Step 10     Go to Detection > Motion Detection tab.

  1. Check Snapshot ‘Channel 1′
  2. Check ‘Set motion detect on schedule’
  3. Only ‘Set duration 1′ to 12:00:00 AM to 11:59:59 PM

Step 11     Click Apply.

Step 12     Then click ‘Apply to everyday’.

Step 13     Exit properties configuration page and go back to main window.

Step 14     Trigger motion on.

Step 15     While motion is detected, video will have red frame alert and it triggers the email alert.

Network Camera | MicrosevenIf you cannot receive emails, please check firewall if it is on, or you can check DNS need to be static.

For example, our company demo DNS is static DNS:

  1. Primary DNS is 64.60.0.17
  2. Secondary DNS is 64.60.0.18

Step 17      To change DNS from Dynamic one to static DNS, please go to tab ‘Network…’ on camera properties configuration page.

Step 18      Click ‘Apply’ to finish. You will receive emails when motion is triggerd.
