Port Forwarding on Netgear Routers

THIS DOCUMENT IS ONLY APPLIED FOR MICROSEVEN PREVIOUS CAMERAS. IT IS NOT FOR MICROSEVEN HD CAMERAS.

The following example is 3 cameras, for port forwarding. And there are 3 IP address for cameras:
192.168.1.201 for first camera.
192.168.1.202 for second camera.
192.168.1.203 for third camera.

  1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your Netgear router in the address bar of your browser.
  2. *** Please read our Default IP Address and Admin Password of Popular Routers to find your router default IP address and login password.

  3. Enter your username and password, then click the ‘OK’ button to log in to your router.
  4. Click on ‘Port Forwarding / Port Triggering’ on the left menu, go to the following screen.
  5. Click ‘Add Custom Service’, to ‘Ports – Custom Servce’ page.

  6. Enter the following values for cam1:
    – ‘Service Name’ is ‘cam1’
    – ‘Service Type’ is ‘TCP/UDP’
    – ‘Starting Type’ is ’81’
    – ‘Ending Type’ is ’81’
    – ‘Service IP Address’ is ‘192.168.1.201’

  7. Click ‘Apply’ button to finish the setup.

  8. Click ‘Add Custom Service’ button again to set cam1 video port.
  9. Enter the following values for cam1 video port:
    – ‘Service Name’ is ‘cam1-video’
    – ‘Service Type’ is ‘TCP/UDP’
    – ‘Starting Type’ is ‘9660’
    – ‘Ending Type’ is ‘9665’
    – ‘Service IP Address’ is ‘192.168.1.201’.

  10. Click ‘Apply’ to finish cam1 port forwarding setup.

  11. Repeat step 4 to 9, to setup cam2 and cam3 port forwarding.

Port Forwarding on Netopia Router

The following guide will show you how to enable and configure port forwarding on the Netopia 3347-02 Cable/DSL Gateway. We assume that you already have the router up and running before you try to open up port forwarding.

The example is 3 cameras, for port forwarding. And there are 3 IP address for cameras:
192.168.1.201 for first camera.
192.168.1.202 for second camera.
192.168.1.203 for third camera.

  1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser. The default IP address for the Bellsouth Netopia router is 192.168.1.254.
  2. *** Please read our Default IP Address and Admin Password of Popular Routers to find your router default IP address and login password.

  3. Enter your username and password, then click the ‘OK’ button to log in to your router.
  4. Click on ‘Expert Mode’ on the lower left corner menu, and click ‘Yes’ button.

  5. In ‘Expert Mode’, Click ‘Configure’ menu on the top menu, and then go to ‘Advance’ setup.

  6. Click ‘Pinholes’ link at ‘NAT’ part, go to Pinhole define page.

  7. Click ‘Add’ button to set camera port which you want to forward.

  8. Set camera port info as belows:
    ‘Pinhole Name’ is ‘cam1’.
    ‘Protocol Select’ is ‘TCP’
    ‘External Port Start’ is ’81’
    ‘External Port End’ is ’81’
    ‘Internal IP Address’ is ‘192.168.1.201’.
    ‘Internal Port’ is ’81’

  9. Click ‘Submit’ to finish this setting.

  10. Click ‘Add’ button to set cam1 video port.

  11. Click ‘Submit’ to finish cam1 port forwarding.

  12. Repeat step 6 to 10, to add cam2 and cam3 port forwarding.

  13. Once the process is completed you have to click on the yellow Warning icon that appears on the top right, and then click on ‘Save and Restart’ in order to Save your configuration.

Port Forwarding on Westell Routers

The following example is 3 cameras, for port forwarding. And there are 3 IP address for cameras:
192.168.1.201 for first camera.
192.168.1.202 for second camera.
192.168.1.203 for third camera.

  1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.
  2. *** Please read our Default IP Address and Admin Password of Popular Routers to find your router default IP address and login password.

  3. Enter your username and password, then click the Ok button to log in to your router.
  4. Click ‘Configuration > Services’ menu, go to the following page.

  5. Click ‘Define Customer Service’ near the bottom of the page.

    Choose ‘Port Forwarding Ranges of Ports’ and click ‘Next’ button to ‘Port Range’ page.

  6. Enter ‘Service Name’, such as ‘cam1’. It must be unique from others.

  7. Enter camera web ports as ’81’ for ‘Global Port Range’, which your need to forward.
  8. Enter ’81’ for ‘Base Host Port’.
  9. Select ‘TCP’ Protocol., then click ‘Next’ go to next page.
  10. Click ‘Add’ to add video port for cam1.
  11. Add camera video ports for ‘cam1’, such as from ‘9660’ to ‘9665’. which your need to forward, then Close the window.
  12. Enter camera ip, then click ‘Done’.

  13. Select ‘Service Name’ as ‘cam1’, then Set this service ‘enable’.

  14. Now port forwarding for cam1 is done.

  15. Repeat steps from 3-13, to finish port forwarding for cam2, cam3.

Port Forwarding on Linksys Wireless Routers

The following example is 3 cameras, for port forwarding. And there are 3 IP address for cameras:
192.168.1.201 for first camera.
192.168.1.202 for second camera.
192.168.1.203 for third camera.

  1. Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

  2. *** Please read our Default IP Address and Admin Password of Popular Routers to find your router default IP address and login password.

  3. Enter your username and password, then click the Ok button to log in to your router.

  4. Click ‘Security’ menu, go to the following page.

    Remove the checkmark from the ‘Block Anonymous Internet Requests’ checkbox.
    Click the ‘Save Settings’ button near the bottom of the page.

  5. Click ‘Applications & Gaming’ menu, you should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click ‘Port Range Forward’.

  6. Enter your microseven camera web ports and video ports which your need to forward.
  7. Click ‘Enable’, then click ‘Save Settings’ button to save your settings.

Default IP Address and Admin Password of Popular Routers

Every router comes set with a default IP address and login password. You need it to access the router admin panel. Documentation lists such details. However if you have forgotten the password or there is no documentation available, the following will definitely help you recover your password if you have not changed it.

Router passwords database is constantly updated with passwords from visitors. Now you can stop wondering the default router username and password. The RouterPassword site has all the router username and password information. All you need is select the router model and brand name. Then click find password button and it will list down all default user names and passwords for the routers by model.

has a huge list of admin name and passwords of a number of router vendors.
