There are four ways to set up a camera DHCP and static IP address.
- Use a Windows computer with Cam Locator
- Use a Mac computer with Cam Locator
- Use the camera system on a browser
- Use the phone app with Cam Locator
1. Use a Windows computer with Cam Locator
Step1. Open a Cam Locator window. Find a camera, and click on ‘Network Setup’.
Step2. A camera setup window opens. The Enable DHCP box is checked by factory default.
Step3. If you want to change the factory default and make the camera a static IP address, you will uncheck the boxes, and change to static IP address and click ‘Apply’ to save the settings. You may need to search the camera again in Cam Locator in case of the camera IP address is updated.
2. Use a Mac computer with Cam Locator
Step1 Open the Cam Locator screen, highlight the camera, then click on the ‘Network Setup’ button:
Step2 Tick on the box to Enable DHCP, then uncheck Dynamic DNS and enter 220.127.116.11 and 18.104.22.168 to DNS fields. Then click on the ‘Apply’ button:
Step3 Click ‘Yes’ button:
Step4 Click ‘OK’ button:
Step5 Click ‘Close’ button to close the Microseven Cam Locator window:
Step6 Tap on the ‘Search’ button again:
3. Use the camera system on a browser
Step1. Find a camera in the Cam Locator, and click ‘Open’.
Step2. Go to ‘CAMERA’, then go ‘Network Settings’. You see the DHCP setting by factory default. If you click on ‘APPLY’, the camera will be the DHCP. You may find the camera again if you have made any change.
Step3. You can change the DHCP to a static IP address for the camera. The following screenshot shows how to do it. If you want to change the camera DNS, please set the DNS to 22.214.171.124 and 126.96.36.199. After you click the ‘APPLY’. You may need to find the camera IP address since it changes.
4. Use the phone app with Cam Locator
Step1. Click on the Cam Locator on the app home page.
Step2. Find the camera, click on the cameras’ ‘Network Settings’
Step3. You can disable the DHCP and change the DHCP to a static IP address. Then click the checkmark to save the settings. The enable DHCP settings are factory default settings.
