      • yup. tried that for hours and hours, every combination I could think of. have 8 Microseven cameras and they used to work in the milestone NVR at my old house. I just moved and built a new server and cannot get them to connect. I did get my reolink cameras to connect rather easily. Milestone initially finds the camera(s) during its search but when adding it in, it fails saying wrong IP, credentials or driver. What credentials do I use? Does RTSP auth need to be on or off? Does ONVIF auth need to be on or off?

        • In the camera I have:
          Device type: MYM74K-HX
          Firmware version: v1.0.11
          RTSP enabled,
          RTSP authentication enabled
          Port: 554
          ONVIF enabled
          ONVIF authentication enabled
          Port: 8080

I've also tried it with RTSP and ONVIF authentication disabled
RTSP authentication enabled but ONVIF authentication disabled
RTSP authentication disabled but ONVIF authentication enabled

I also tried it with ONVIF port 8000 because the Reolink camera connected without issue using port 8000 so I figured what the heck might as well try it.

As you can see in the screenshots above, it shows that when Milestone identifies the camera on the network it is successful, but when Next is clicked and Milestone attempts to add the camera to the server it fails.

          Camera identification https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c33eac8a4af5cf97f699e411cf20c44f4c8a23f45cd7a23e02ad9fd92b414954.png

Click next to then add the camera to the server and it fails as seen here:

I have tried this same process with selecting ONVIF compliant device, ONVIF Complient device 2-16 channel, and auto detect (which is in the screenshots).

I've also tried the following usernames and passwords:
          U: admin / P: password
U: admin / P: The password I set on my camera to login which i wont share here
U: default / P: whatever Milestone deems as default. This is a pre-set option in milestone when you first begin adding the camera.
I've also tried using all 3 passwords, since milestone lets you add more than one username and password to the list then you can simply put a check in the options you want to use. I've also tried all the passwords with all the other camera and milestone combinations possible as described within this message. Back and forth I went between the camera and milestone for hours changing a thing in the caemra and trying all the different options in Milestone, then changing another thing, then trying all the different Milestone options again… on and on trying every possible combination. Then I began trying all the different combination possibilities between the camera and Milestone after changing device packs, for 5 different device packs. There is a good possibility that I may have missed one or several different camera/milestone/driver combinations. Which Is what brought me to this forum to ask for help. I know they work because they did work on my old milestone server which i should have just kept but figured I would build a new one with better hardware and newer version of Milestone.

I've tried it with all 3 device options each with the different combinations I described above.

Nothing I do gets the camera to be successfully added to the server, even though, it successfully identified the camera.

I've also tried several different driver packs, as well as making sure my camera had the latest firmware. I've attached a screenshot of the different driver packs I've tried. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5af65f01f6b6c394b46a61eb6000fc499f017bc2a2a33c22f66d6ad63f03b23e.png

Please advise on what I should do. I have around a thousand dollars of Microseven cameras on my house.

          • I've already tried that. In fact I've tried all 4 codecs available in Xprotect. Of course, all cameras are available on my Microseven app and I can see the rtsp video stream using VLC. For the life of me I cannot get them to connect to Milestone. I might suggest spinning up a milestone xprotect essentials machine and trying it on your end so this website can be updated. I've ben at this for 2 days now, basically non stop and none of the instructions i can find anywhere work. I see you took some screenshots to create this page back in 2015, almost 10 years ago. I think things have changed and connecting Microseven to Milestone is not as simple as is explained on this page.

          • Ive also tried all the codec's on the camera side. If I use the use the Universal driver and the rtsp stream, Milestone does successfully add the camera using the universal driver and the rtsp stream but there is no video. So basically I cannot get it to work using ONVIF, and I cannot get it to work using the Universal driver and the RTSP stream that works perfectly find in VLC. WHen I use the universal driver and the rtsp stream in Milestone I get No Video no matter the coded i use. I've also tried all the optional codec's on the camera side. Again, it might be a good idea to install Xprotect and try it, because ONVIF and RTSP are not working and the instructions on this website are no longer accurate.

          • Seth, You are the only avenue available for support regarding Microseven. I've scoured internet searches, tried every combination I can think of. Milestone doesn't support Microseven so even if I paid them, they will not provide any support to me. I have 8 Microseven cameras (7 are currently installed and 1 still in the box) and really need real support. I've checked all the combinations, exhausted all the available options on the internet that I can find. The instructions created on this thread are incorrect (or were correct and since they are near 10 years old, are no longer correct). I have been at this for more or less 38 dedicated hours with no lock (not including the time it took me to install the cameras). What information do you need from me, and what do I have to do to get these cameras to work. I don't care if its ONVIF, RTSP, or whatever else. I just need to get Milestone xProtect to display the video feed. I am asking for assistance. Is there a way you can RDP into my server, can I pay for additional support, what options do I have?

          • NVM. I figured it out using RTSP. Again, the directions here are literally useless, 10 years old and do not work. There are a number of additional steps required to make this work. The effort put forth in the above guide makes it clear that whoever wrote this guide was either not paid enough or asleep on the job. They are in desperate need of an update.

          • Hello VK, I experienced exactly the same issue, and tried all the steps you did. Can you please advise what you did to get this going. Ever since I upgraded from 2021 to 2023 all my microseven cameras stopped working. After setting up a whole new server, and upgrading to 2024 I hoped everything would work. But still nothing. Seems you figured it out. I would be greatly appreciated if you can share what you did using RTSP. So far just using that port didn't do anything. I have the same cameras as you. The moderator on here is obviously no help.

          • The URL of the RTSP for the microseven camera: rtsp://[your_camera_ip_address]:[rtsp_port]/%5Bstream_type%5D

            The [stream_type]:
            11 is for primary stream
12 is for the secondary stream
For example, the camera's IP address is 192.168.1.3.
            The rtsp_port (default) is 554.
You want to use primary stream 11.
            The URL looks like rtsp://192.168.1.3/11.

You can try it on VLC play.

If you make the RTSP authentication, the URL will be rtsp://[username]:[password]@[your_camera_ip_address]:[rtsp_port]/%5Bstream_type%5D

          • Thanks, but what are the full steps to get this to work on Xprotect. Just changing the URL does not work. what driver did you use? What settings did you use to get milestone to recognize the microseven camera? I have 4 microseven cameras that have been out for months.

          • Just wanted to say thank you Seth, it finally works after months!!! One step I recommend that I needed to do, was reboot my server. I also reset my cams to default because I messed with so many settings. The reboot did the final trick though. Also many thanks to Vaughn for starting this thread!
